Information regarding present President

Justice Shri Pradeep Ramchandra Borkar was born on 1.8.1948. His Lordship took his education at Kolhapur. His Lordship was in the merit lists of University for all three years of LL.B. He obtained LL.B. and LL.M. degrees by studying in Shahaji Law College, Kolhapur. His Lordship was awarded National Merit Scholarship for LL.M. His Lordship started practice in 1971 at Kolhapur. His Lordship worked on Criminal and Civil side.

His Lordship joined Judicial Service as Civil Judge, Junior Division and Judicial Magistrate, First Class in the year 1976. His Lordship was promoted as Chief Judicial Magistrate in 1984. Worked some time as a Labour Judge. His Lordship was promoted as Additional District Judge in February, 1989. His Lordship was taken in District Judge cadre in June, 1993. Thereafter, His Lordship worked at various District places and also worked as District Judge at Jalgaon, Dhule and Sindhudurg. On 4.5.2005, His Lordship was appointed as the Chairman of the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Mumbai and Presiding Officer of the State Transport Appellate Tribunal (M.S) Mumbai. His Lordship worked as Principal Secretary, Law and Judiciary Department from 27.3.2006 till His Lordship was elevated as Additional Judge of Bombay High Court on 8.9.2006. His Lordship retired as prune Judge of the High Court on 31/7/2010. Thereafter, His Lordship was appointed as President of the Maharashtra Revenue Tribunal and since June, 2011, His Lordship has been working as such.
